MSI adds value to their clients’ fleet through: close monitoring of ship’s physical condition and performance ensuring they meet or exceed the requirements of international conventions such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM, ISPS as well as those of individual owners, charterers, classification societies, flag states and port state controls regular onboard visits by technical superintendents and internal auditors to implement and assess quality procedures and practices onboard control of operating expenses within budgets without compromising on safety, quality and performance standards Our expertise covers a wide variety of vessels: bulk carriers general cargo ships very large crude carriers (VLCC) chemical & product tankers liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers containerships ro ros floating storage offloaders (FSO) Supporting MSI’s ability to deliver high performance is its innovative MSI Management System (MMS) which tracks all aspects of shipboard and shorebased operations and measures them against well-established key performance indicators (KPIs). The MMS is ABS-certified to the ISM code, ISPS code, OHSAS18000, ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 14001:2004. It also complies with other IMO regulations and standards like OCIMF and TMSA. CREW MANAGEMENT MSI manages a pool of over 2500 seafarers of which 1500 are at sea at any one time. We recruit seafarers through our own network of crewing centers and employ stringent checks to verify the employment history, certification and medical records of all applicants. These seafarers go through a rigorous selection process to ensure that only the most qualified and experienced seafarers are admitted as part of our team. The value of MSI’s crew pool is enhanced on a continuous basis by our in-house training department which offers a broad range of courses and a well-established cadetship program to ensure that all client needs and statutory requirements are fully met.
